What changes with HyperOS 3 from Xiaomi.eu

As already noted, Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM, i.e., software customized by a group of enthusiasts (experts) who decided to create an alternative HyperOS version based entirely on Chinese ROMs.
The custom ROM is born directly from the foundations of the official Chinese ROMs, which often receive new features and updates weeks or months ahead of their Global or EEA/EU counterparts. The Xiaomi.eu team works on this source code, optimizes it and adapts it for the Western audience.
The first, and perhaps most significant, change is the removal of Chinese bloatware, i.e., those superfluous or non-working apps and services outside Asia. In their place, the ROM integrates Google’s essential services and apps, which are missing in the Chinese versions. Moreover, unlike the latter, Xiaomi.eu offers full multilingual support, including Italian, making the system immediately usable.
The user experience benefits significantly. Many users report greater overall system smoothness and optimized battery management, thanks to software that is often leaner and free of unnecessary background services. In addition, there are small but useful customizations.
It is important to note, however, that installing Xiaomi.eu requires a fundamental step: unlocking the device’s bootloader, a common operation among enthusiasts but that requires some technical competence.
