Latest update: February 6 – In the Android world, customization is often the key to an optimal user experience, even though lately it seems that many manufacturers have lost their way.
For Xiaomi device owners, a name frequently surfaces in community discussions: Xiaomi.eu, now updated to HyperOS 3, already available for various models by the Chinese company, including Redmi and POCO. But what exactly is this ROM and why does it attract the attention of so many technology enthusiasts?
In breve, Xiaomi.eu è una versione personalizzata del sistema operativo MIUI o HyperOS di Xiaomi, creata da una community indipendente per colmare il divario tra le versioni cinesi e quelle globali.
The custom ROM is available for various Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices and is based on the Chinese stable or weekly versions of the official MIUI or HyperOS, but translated and optimized for the European/Western market.
For advanced users we skip straight to it and leave you with the download links: these are the smartphones supported so far and we will update the list as new ones are added and updates become available.

As usual, we remind that installing HyperOS in the Xiaomi.eu version is intended for experienced and informed users. It is not official ROMs but custom ROMs: the fundamental prerequisite is unlocking the bootloader, so you can proceed with installation via TWRP.
As already noted, Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM, i.e., software customized by a group of enthusiasts (experts) who decided to create an alternative HyperOS version based entirely on Chinese ROMs.
The custom ROM is born directly from the foundations of the official Chinese ROMs, which often receive new features and updates weeks or months ahead of their Global or EEA/EU counterparts. The Xiaomi.eu team works on this source code, optimizes it and adapts it for the Western audience.
The first, and perhaps most significant, change is the removal of Chinese bloatware, i.e., those superfluous or non-working apps and services outside Asia. In their place, the ROM integrates Google’s essential services and apps, which are missing in the Chinese versions. Moreover, unlike the latter, Xiaomi.eu offers full multilingual support, including Italian, making the system immediately usable.
The user experience benefits significantly. Many users report greater overall system smoothness and optimized battery management, thanks to software that is often leaner and free of unnecessary background services. In addition, there are small but useful customizations.
It is important to note, however, that installing Xiaomi.eu requires a fundamental step: unlocking the device’s bootloader, a common operation among enthusiasts but that requires some technical competence.
Before we leave you, here are three more helpful deep-dives for both veteran Mi Fans and newcomers to the Chinese company.
